Often, I come to things because I think they’ll be instrumental to me, practical. Sometimes I realize that the activity I’ve taken up is not instrumental, but transformative.
I began running for weight-loss (it doesn’t work that way, but… ). I’ve continued and grown this habit because of how it transformed me, and improved my day-to-day.
When I run, I feel GOOD. When I run, I feel like I can manage the many moving parts of my life, and not just manage, but CRUSH. When I run, I’m a hero of my own life, not a leaf swirled by wind, falling to be drowned in an autumn torrent. When I run, I have extra love for my kids and John. When I run, I know that taking risks and keeping on day after day trying difficult and new things is definitely how I want to live my life.
